HUGHES Jane Adair Cornetet Hughes, age 47, (born
August 25, 1957), died Sunday, January 9, 2005 at The Richard M. Ross
Heart Hospital at The Ohio State University. Jane was a life long resident
of Upper Arlington, and a 1975 UAHS graduate. Jane attended Columbus
College of Art and Design, majored in voice at The Ohio State University,
studied under Paul Hickfang and was a graduate of Bliss Business College.
Jane was President/Owner of The Hughes Advertising Agency, Inc. with
long-term clients in the U.S., Canada and Australia. She had previously
been lead singer in The Blue Ash Band, The Majestics and Topper. Her
memberships included lifetime member of UAHS Alumni Assoc., Capital Area
Humane Society, Humane Society of United States, Women of the Moose (Lodge
#1533, Indian Lake, Ohio), Riverside Methodist Church, and the American
Diabetes Association. She was a diabetic for 42 years. Preceded in death
by her 19-year-old dog, Pee Wee. Jane is survived by her husband of 22
years, Thomas A. Hughes; parents, Dr. and Mrs. Wendell H. Cornetet Jr.
(June); brother, Wendell H. Cornetet, III (Suzy); nephews, Wendell H.
Cornetet IV (Emily), Christopher A. Cornetet; and niece, Cheryl E.
Cornetet; brother-in-law, Gary P. Hughes (Diana); aunt and uncle, Clarence
and Nancy Cornetet Pennington; cousins, Aaron D. Cottle, Beth Black and
Lea Pennington; many dear friends and her beloved dog, Artie. Friends may
call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST
CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road. Private service and interment at Union
Cemetery with Rev. Paul Sherer officiating. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto-Darby
Executive Ct. Hilliard, OH 43026, in her memory. |
